Hello! My name is Susan Johnson Griner; and I am a life long resident of Hayden.

A bit of brief history about me and my ties to Hayden. To start with, I can trace a branch of my family, here in Hayden,  back 1812; this is through the Graves family that settled the Graves Gap area. This was before Alabama was even a state, and back then Hayden was called Rockland. Many generations of my family have attended the schools here in the Hayden area (First Hayden School, Graves Gap School, Banger School) before the Old Hayden School, that the majority of us remember and love, was built.  One of the early Hayden Schools stood where Ms Ella Hays house sits today (across from the power sub-station). The school we treasure was built in 1939; my father Jack Earl Johnson attended this school, as did I and my brothers; and both of my daughters walked the hallowed halls of Dear Old HHS, as well.

It is my dream to someday have as many Annuals as possible on this website for Community use. No profit what so ever is made from the annuals being presented here! However, donations to help support the cost of maintaining this site on the internet are greatly appreciated

Remember, while viewing the pages here on this site, if you happen to notice a yearbook that's missing, and you just happen to have one (or more) that you would like to loan to this project, please contact me.
